Patek Philippe has just unveiled a 5270T Unique Piece For Children Action, the charity that takes care of all those children in need around the world.
The Children Action Association and its initiatives
The Children Action Association, of Genevan origin, deals in numerous areas with the protection of children and young people in precarious situations. Currently 173,100 people have benefited personally from the help of this organization.
Maison Patek Philippe, also from Geneva, is known for its commitment to charitable initiatives around the world. Just think of the recent initiative that wanted the 5711 Tiffany as protagonist at the end of 2021 or the incredible result of 31 million CHF raised with the sale of the 6300A in steel at OnlyWatch 2019.
The aesthetics of the 5270T Unique Piece For Children Action
For this initiative, it is the first time that Patek Philippe uses titanium on the legendary 5270, attracting, as always, a large audience of possible benefactors. This perpetual calendar chronograph was the successor to the equally historic 5970, the first timepiece designed by Thierry Stern in the generation transition between father and son.
It features a soleil emerald green dial in a unique shade, combined with the stitching of the leather strap, also equipped with a folding clasp in the same material as the case.
As the great collector @@horology_ancienne points out, the 5270T unique piece for Children Action has a new dial but not only for its shade. The layout has remained the same, but in the moon phase at 6 o’clock we notice that the counter is “lowered” compared to all the other 5270 dials where it is not. By lowered we mean that the counter has been dug like those placed at 3 and 9 o’clock.
The sapphire caseback dedicated to Children Action 2022
Inside the 5270T there is the CH 29-535 PS Q caliber, admirable from the classic sapphire crystal case back, with the metallic inscription “Children Action 2022” celebrating the initiative. The watch is also equipped with an interchangeable solid titanium caseback, that the future owner can replace at will.
The exhibition at La Réserve in Geneva
The watch will be unveiled before the Phillips Geneva Watch Auction: XV between 7 and 8 May, at the Hotel La Réserve Genève. The “Children Action” charity auction will be held in Geneva on November 7th.
