What better time than now to renew a cornerstone of watch design and engineering like the Serpenti? For those who don’t know, 2025 is the year of the snake according to the Chinese calendar, and Bulgari celebrates the eternal symbol of transformation and renewal with an extraordinary evolution of its iconic Serpenti collection.
Since its origins, the Serpenti collection has been an emblem of continuity, regeneration and femininity. Now Bulgari, on the occasion of LVMH Watch Week, is elevating this symbol to a new level of excellence by introducing the first fully in-house developed automatic movement, the BVS100, which perfectly complements the iconic shape of the Serpenti head case.
As I will go on to tell you below, this achievement not only underscores the maison’s mastery of the art of watchmaking, but also represents an achievement that combines tradition and innovation.
Let us now go on to discover all the features of the new Seducer Snakes and Tubogas.
The design of the new Bvlgari Serpents
The design of the new Serpenti Seduttori, reflects timeless femininity, with details that embody Bulgari’s aesthetic vision and attention to detail. The 34 mm yellow or rose gold case, adorned with 36 brilliant-cut diamonds, exemplifies the perfect balance of luxury and sophistication. The crown, embellished with a pink rubellite cabochon, adds a touch of color that amplifies the elegance of the timepiece.
Variants available include cases in stainless steel, rose gold, yellow gold, steel and rose gold, and, finally, white gold or yellow gold with 273 diamonds set across the entire surface of the case and bracelet.
Each model features an opaline or diamond-paved dial (in the two most precious versions of the Seduttori model), complemented by gold-plated hands and hour markers. The flexible bracelet with folding clasp, embellished with serpentine scales, ensures absolute comfort and a flawless fit.
Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani, executive director of watch design at Bulgari, describes Serpenti as “more than an icon, a signature.” This symbol, inspired by Greco-Roman culture and the allure of Cleopatra, embodies boundless creativity. The deep connection between the Serpenti and the ancient world results in continuous reinvention, celebrating transformation and feminine strength.
The introduction of the automatic movement in the Serpenti collection represents a significant step toward an integrated vision of mechanics and design. The Seduttori line, known for its “second skin” bracelet and hexagonal scales, has been enriched with creations that enhance the hypnotic charm of the snake, accompanying the wearer in every precious moment of life.
Bulgari is not only a pioneer in jewelry making; its expertise in watchmaking is evidenced by legendary creations such as Octo and Bvlgari Bvlgari. With the Serpenti Seduttori, the collection establishes itself as a unique combination of jewelry and watch, embodying the art of watchmaking at its finest.
A separate discourse that for the Tubogas line, which maintains its iconic organic shape; a timepiece that seems to climb up your arm until it reaches your wrist to tell you what time it is.
With a rose gold case a little larger than the Seduttori, or 35mm, it was presented in this new variant with automatic calibers, with only one version of a white opaline dial surrounded by a guillochè sunburst motif. The crown, also in rose gold, is dominated at its center by a cabochon-cut pink rubellite.
It is the perfect fusion of design with an industrial character and exquisite craftsmanship. Its bracelet recalls the seductive coils of the snake thanks to its sinuous lines and harmoniously interwoven links without any welding.
The caliber of the new Bvlgari Serpents
The new BVS100 automatic movement, is the fruit of three years of development and refinement. With a diameter of only 19 mm and a thickness of 3.90 mm, it weighs just 5 grams, but offers an impressive power reserve of 50 hours.
This ultra-compact movement is designed to fit perfectly with the curvaceous curves of the Seductive Serpents and Tubogas collection, while providing unparalleled precision and performance.
This iconic timepiece features a “time-only” display, showing hours and minutes. In addition, the transparent sapphire case back reveals the enchanting movement of the oscillating weight decorated with the Bulgari logo and iconic snake scales, a detail that symbolizes perpetual renewal and connection to the Maison’s tradition of craftsmanship.
In short, with the new movement, the snake is not just an aesthetic symbol, but a real mechanical heart that pulses with the rhythm of the wearer’s life. Every creation in the collection, from Tubogas to Seducer models, becomes a discreet and sophisticated witness to the passing of time.
Conclusions
With the new Serpenti Automatici, Bulgari transforms the iconic collection into a mechanical work of art that transcends time and space. This jewel-watch is not just an accessory, but a symbol of eternity, transformation and timeless beauty. An icon that, like the snake, continuously renews itself to tell stories across generations, marking the rhythm of unforgettable moments.
