If we thought that Tudor’s novelties were over for this year, with the unveiling of the recent Black Bay Ceramic Blue, we have changed our minds.
Now, the Geneva-based maison has once again amazed the entire watchmaking world by presenting a brand new chronograph that recalls a historic color for the manufacture. So let’s welcome the brand new Tudor Black Bay Chrono Blue, a watch that impressed me from the first glance and is already making waves.
The New Tudor Black Bay Chrono Blue
After the recent introduction of the Black Bay Chrono with a pink dial, Tudor has decided to enrich its chronograph catalog with a new timepiece distinguished by a dial that fully reflects the stylistic canons of the maison.
Unlike the much sought-after and unobtainable “pink,” the new Black Bay Chrono will be a boutique exclusive and therefore available for purchase exclusively at the house’s flagship stores.
Looking at the watch, the element that immediately jumps out at you is the “Tudor blue” present on both the dial with a soleil finish and the bezel with a tachymeter scale.
This is a color that the house has always been fond of, and from the late 1960s to the present, it has found its way onto different models from the Geneva-based house. Among them, the two models from which the blue of the new Black Bay Chrono Blue takes direct inspiration deserve special mention: the famous blue Tudor Submariner “Snowflake” and the Oysterdate “Montecarlo Blue.”
Looking at the watch face, at 3 o’clock is the 45-minute chronograph counter and, at 9 o’clock, the continuous seconds counter. At 6 o’clock, on the other hand, is located the date window.
A configuration that is identical to the other Black Bay Chrono models currently in the house’s catalog.
Above the traditional 41 mm diameter steel case, we find screw-down chronograph start/stop (at 13 o’clock) and reset (at 16 o’clock) pushers. At 3 o’clock, however, is the screw-down winding crown, distinguished by the emblematic Tudor rose.
The element that immediately distinguishes the new Chrono with blue dial from the other chronograph models in the catalog is the 5-piece steel bracelet with t-fit adjustment on the clasp.
A bracelet that we first saw above the model with a pink dial, and which was certainly much appreciated.
Like the other Chrono models, powering the watch is the self-winding manufacture caliber MT5813.
Our Thoughts
With this new Black Bay Chrono Blue, Tudor, once again, has shown that it is possible to innovate without upsetting.
In fact, this watch joins the other highly appreciated models in the chrono collection, but with that extra touch of color that has always represented the maison.
Considering the astonishment it has already generated on the various social networks, I am sure that this new chronograph from the house of Tudor will become the object of desire for many collectors of the brand and beyond.

The watch will be sold at a list price of EUR 5,790 and will be available exclusively at Tudor flagship boutiques.
