Which watches were Daniele De Rossi’s teammates wearing during his last press conference?
Yesterday was a sad day for Football. After 18 years, the captain decided to leave the yellow-red team after the non-renewal of his contract. Roma-Parma will be his last match.
Even though the situation wasn’t exciting, IWS got busy to identify some of his teammates’ watches.
Here there are three watches we spotted:
Lorenzo Pellegrini #7 – Rolex GMT Master II 126711CHNR
This metal combination, introduced for the first time on the GMT Master II last year, is getting a quite successful response despite the steel-gold watches demand usually follows a negative trend.
We saw it on Monchi’s and Álvaro Morata’s wrist… Who’ll be next?
Bryan Cristante #4 – Rolex Daytona Oysterflex 116515LN
“Chocolate” dial with arabic numerals, usually referred as “racing” on other metal configurations. The withdrawal from the market came unexpectedly after BaselWorld 2019, replaced by a new version with traditional Daytona indexes (you can see it here)
Sporty and not too shiny, perfect for almost every occasion.
Daniele De Rossi #16 – vintage Rolex Daytona “Paul Newman” 6239
From a captain as De Rossi, we couldn’t expect a trivial watch.
The reference 6239 was the first to introduce the famous Rolex chronograph: the Daytona.
We can spot it from the metal tachy bezel, originally with 300-scale (units per hours) and later 200-scale. Pump pushers inherited from the pre-Daytona 6238 and then abandoned on the 6240.
What to say… The watch is just spectacular.
