In the heart of the Venetian lagoon comes to life the third edition of “The One, for passionate only,” the auction-event signed Spangaro & Co Auction House. The Basilica Sconsacrata San Marco Hall of the JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa, on the Isola delle Rose, will host the event in a setting that combines history and contemporaneity, transforming itself for the occasion into a stage dedicated to watchmaking excellence.
The origins of Spangaro & Co.
The story of Spangaro & Co began in the early 1980s in Udine, when Nara and Gianandrea, fellow students at the “G. Sello” Art Institute, turned their passion into a shared project. In 1983 they opened with two other partners the Piccolo Oro jewelry store on Via Mazzini. A few years later they took over the entire business, starting an independent entrepreneurial path that combines craftsmanship expertise and attention to quality.
In the 1990s his son Jacopo entered the scene, growing up in close contact with the workshop: among tools, precious stones and watches he soon developed a curiosity that turned into passion. At the end of the decade the company experiences a difficult test with the passing of Nara. Since then Gianandrea and Jacopo consolidate their human and professional bond, working side by side and sharing training and experience.

Over time, interest in vintage watchmaking becomes more and more central. The expertise gained over the years allows them to offer restoration, appraisal and certification services, winning the trust of collectors and enthusiasts. In 2018, the business expanded with the opening of the boutique on Via Girardini in Udine, which became a reference point for those looking for selected watches and jewelry, combined with specialized advice.
The path finds a decisive turning point in 2024 with the birth of Spangaro Aste, an independent auction house based in Palazzo Sommariva, a historic building in the heart of Udine designed by architect Ermes Midena. The choice of this location responds both to a strategic need and the desire to enhance a representative architectural context.
The auction-event “THE ONE”
“THE ONE” format was born in 2022 to reinterpret the concept of a watch auction: not just a selection of rare pieces, but an exclusive context combining haute horlogerie, art, motors, wine, and entertainment. Since its inception, it has attracted Italian and international collectors, exceeding estimates and leading the watch department to a growth of more than 80 percent.

The 2025 edition, entitled “Reflections,” explores the link between aesthetics and emotion, value and taste, history and collecting.
For three days, Venice will become a focal point for enthusiasts:
- Friday, Sept. 26(10 a.m.- 6 p.m.) and Saturday, Sept. 27(10 a.m.- 1 p.m.): display of timepieces in the catalog, signed by the most iconic maisons, from Rolex to Patek Philippe, Cartier to Audemars Piguet, Jaeger-LeCoultre to Omega.
- Saturday, Sept. 27, starting at 5 p.m.: the auction-event, combining the tension of hammering with artistic performances, musical moments and star-studded cuisine.
An event that celebrates watchmaking as an art form, in one of the most evocative places in the world. Each watch presented is more than a luxury object: a fragment of time and beauty, destined to reflect the identity of those who choose it.
Among them, we have selected 10 lots, all rarities that hold stories and promise to excite and surprise young enthusiasts and collectors alike.
