The new Nautilus 5811 / 1G-001 in white gold
Unexpected to say the least, the new Nautilus 5811 / 1G makes its disruptive entry into the Patek Philippe collections, replacing the historic 5711 in steel.
The President of the brand, Thierry Stern, has always stressed the importance of keeping a rather small number of steel watches, in order not to lower the value of Patek with non-precious metals. This however seemed to have overturned with all the steel Nautilus taking over.
With the decision to remove its flagship model, we return to the origins and precious materials, here is the new Nautilus 5811 in white gold.
The big news, in addition to the metal, are the dimensions. Patek has chosen a 41mm case instead of the original 40 of the previous reference, but has equipped with three new patented inventions: a secure clasp in the bracelet, an adjustment / lengthening device with locking and hacking of the seconds during the time setting.
For the dial we find a new shade of blue, which fades from black, remotely reminiscent of the Nautilus 5711 in platinum of the past.
The new Nautilus 5712 / 1R-001 with rose gold bracelet
This model physically appeared on the web about 6 months ago, between those who said it was a unique piece and those of a special modification. Patek Philippe silences any rumors by presenting the new 5712/1R with rose gold bracelet, for the first time in the collection.
The 5712 is a very important model for the collection, as it represents the next step after time-only and the refinement of complications on a sporty but very fine case. The 5712 remains slim, elegant, perfect in all senses. With the other complications in the Nautilus collection, on the other hand, we have to deal with thicker and bulky cases.
The pink gold bracelet is the great novelty of the reference, first equipped with a leather strap, both in the white gold and pink gold versions (can we expect a 5712 with a white gold bracelet then?).
The specifications for the 5712 / 1R-001 remain the same as the previous one, with the exception of a new burnished square, which we could already nickname chocolate.
The new Nautilus 7118 / 1300R-001 for the ladies
For the ladies, Patek dedicates the new Nautilus 7118 / 1300R with a baguette gradient on the bezel and dial. Recently the Maison acquired a stake in the independent company Salanitro SA, a leader in diamonds for Haute Horlogerie.
On this occasion the feminine version of the brand’s most coveted collection was made a jewelry watch with a chic touch, but remaining rather understated compared to a full pavé on the case, dial and bracelet.
Spessarites, natural stones of the garnet family, of the highest level, were used for the stones. The bezel features 68 of them, ranging from cognac to champagne, while on the dial we have an ogival shape for the stone indexes.
The case of the new Nautilus 7118 / 1300R-001 is 35.2mm and has a water resistance up to 60m.
Price and availability to the public
The new Patek Philippe Nautilus 5811 / 1G-001 will have a retail price of € 70,350, while the new Nautilus 5712 / 1R-001 will have a price of € 83,470, finally the ladies Nautilus 7118 / 1300R-001 will have a price list of € 83,470 .
