When Bugatti talks about heritage and innovation, it never does it half-heartedly. With the new F.K.P. Hommage, the Molsheim-based manufacturer presents a modern and personal interpretation of the legendary Veyron, celebrating at the same time the genius of Ferdinand Karl Piëch and the pinnacle of the W16 four-engine era. The unique example, created through the Programme Solitaire, the highest level of Bugatti customization that produces only two cars a year, combines design, history and performance without compromise.

An icon reinterpreted

The F.K.P. Hommage is a tribute that echoes the classic proportions of the Veyron with a clean-surfaced silhouette and sculptural balance, while pushing technology to the highest level achieved by the W-16. Indeed, the engine is the latest evolution of the 8.0-liter four-turbocharged engine developed for the Chiron Super Sport, capable of delivering up to 1,600 hp and 1,600 Nm of torque, a figure that nearly doubles the power output of the original Veyron.

Aesthetically, the two-tone red-carbon livery reflects the iconic original combination but with ultra-modern materials and finishes, while details such as the horseshoe-shaped grille, now machined three-dimensionally from a block of aluminum, underscore the full evolution of the design.

Inside, the F.K.P. Hommage marks a distinct departure from contemporary models such as the Chiron and Mistral. The steering wheel reverts to the circular shape inspired by the original Veyron, combined with a center console and tunnel carved from solid blocks of aluminum and Custom Car Couture fabric upholstery that elevate the concept of bespoke luxury.

But the real distinguishing feature, and perhaps the most powerful symbol of this design, is the presence in the center of the dashboard of a 43 mm Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Flying Tourbillon integrated into the dashboard.

Tailor-made for the owner, this“dash clock” is positioned in an engine-turned finish “island” that recalls the same motifs typical of Bugatti engine heads, and equipped with a charging system that uses the rotation of a “gondola” with no direct electrical connection.

Our reflections

The Bugatti F.K.P. Hommage embodies the perfect balance between past and future: it celebrates the Veyron, revives the W16 engine at its peak, and elevates the concept of personalization to include an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Tourbillon in the center console.

Does this highly educated fusion of haute horology and automotive engineering really represent the future of luxury? And what do you think will be the next step in the convergence of cars and high-end watches?
