H. Moser & Cie, after the realization of its Streamliner in steel, decided to give the model a completely new look: red gold and Vantablack dial.
In this new version, also equipped with the automatic caliber with flying tourbillon, we find an ode to sobriety, where aesthetic purity is combined with the complexity of the movement and the materials chosen.
The striking Vantablack dial, made with an innovative coating from the field of astrophysics and the aeronautical industry, associated with the tourbillon, a traditional haute horlogerie mechanism par excellence, make the watch ultra-contemporary and timeless.
The case of the new Streamliner Tourbillon Vantablack
Made of 5N red gold, H. Moser & Cie has chosen this material which is able to highlight all the curves of its Streamliner, from the cushion-shaped case to the integrated bracelet with articulated links.
In order to obtain the finishing that can be admired on the case of the new Streamliner Tourbillon Vantablack, extremely meticulous polishing and satin finishing work was required.
As for the dimensions, we find a diameter of 40 mm and a thickness of 12.1 mm (10.3 mm without the glass above the dial).
At 3 o’clock we find the screwed crown, decorated with the letter “M” which allows the watch to be water resistant up to 12 ATM.
The dial of the new Streamliner Tourbillon Vantablack
The star of this new model, in addition to 5N red gold, is the Vantablack dial in absolute black, an innovative material created in 2012, very dear to the manufacture.
Composed of carbon nano structures positioned side by side, when a photon comes into contact with the Vantablack, the light is absorbed at 99.965%.
Since the eye needs reflected light in order to perceive what is in front of it, the Vantablack dial is perceived as the absence of matter.
This ultra-black material of the dial is recognized as the darkest substance that exists and is used, for example, in astrophysics inside telescopes, in the military for thermal camouflage or in the civil sphere for the construction of solar panels.
Perfectly matched with red gold, this dial creates a contrast that is further enhanced by the red gold indexes that mark the rhythm of the dial, real luminous inserts that burst into the blackest possible surface.
The indexes are positioned across the back of the dial by means of a plate so as to make them visible or not at certain angles when looking at the dial.
At 6 o’clock, as if floating inside a black hole, the flying tourbillon that animates the new Streamliner finds space.
Finally, to protect the square, we find a slightly rounded sapphire crystal with a thickness of 1.8 mm.
The movement of the new Streamliner Tourbillon Vantablack
A marvel of ingenuity, within this new model of the Streamliner family there is the self-winding HMC 804 caliber equipped with a double hairspring developed and produced in-house by the sister company of H. Moser & Cie., Precision Engineering AG.
Through the sapphire crystal of the caseback, you can admire the oscillating weight in 18-karat red gold with the engraved H. Moser & Cie. Logo.
With a thickness of 5.5 mm and a frequency of 21,600 vibrations / hour, this caliber guarantees a power reserve of 3 days.
The bracelet of the new Streamliner Tourbillon Vantablack
To complete the overall design of the watch, we find an integrated bracelet in 5N red gold with a three-blade folding clasp and engraved Moser logo.
