Initially scheduled for the month of January and subsequently postponed due to Covid, the appointment with one of the most eagerly awaited fairs in Italy and beyond for the jewelry sector returns next March in Vicenza: Vicenzaoro.
Within the fair, which will take place between 17 and 21 March 2022, there will be a new format totally dedicated to modern watchmaking: VO’Clock Privé.
This new lounge of contemporary watchmaking will host some of the most important brands in the world of watchmaking, as well as offering a rich calendar of events and training courses.
Let’s find out all the details in this article.
The previous Vicenzaoro edition
In the last appointment with this fair, held in September 2021, we showed you on our social channels what was the central part for us inside the Vicenzaoro fair: VO Vintage.
This format of the last edition saw as protagonists some of the most important Italian sellers, and not only, of vintage watches.
In this last event, we had the opportunity to meet and chat with some world-famous collectors and sellers including Stefano Mazzariol, Elvio Piva, Maurizio Deangelis, Robert Maron and many others.
Thanks to this section of the fair it was possible to admire some of the rarest and most important vintage watches in the world.
We also participated in some training courses, including the “Newman Master” held by Stefano Mazzariol and Carlo Pergola, centered on one of the most famous dials in the world: the Paul Newman dial of the Rolex Daytona.
For the next edition of Vicenzaoro, to be held in March, this VO Vintage format will be replaced by the new and exclusive format mentioned above: VO’Clock Privé.
But if you are a vintage lover, don’t worry, VO Vintage will be back from 9 to 11 September 2022.
What is VO’Clock Privé
This new format presented by IEG (Italian Exhibition Group), organizer of the Vicenzaoro fair, will represent the opportunity to meet the protagonists of contemporary watchmaking, collectors, enthusiasts, industry experts and the media.
VO’Clock Privé will be held between Friday 18 and Sunday 20 March 2022 at the Vicenza exhibition center and will be open to the public on Saturday and Sunday (19 and 20).
Some of the most important Maison in the world will take part in this event, dedicated to contemporary timepieces, including: Zenith, Girard-Perregaux, Eberhard & Co., Corum, Perrelet, Vincent Calabrese, Locman Italy, Junghans, Wyler Vetta and Timex.
These Maisons will be housed in elegant lounges in the foyer on the first floor of the Vicenza exhibition center, in a setting reserved for enthusiasts, the press and operators.
Within these it will be possible to admire the main novelties of the brands, previews and it will also be possible to see and touch the specimens, talk and interact with industry experts.
VO’Clock Privé masterclasses
Inside the fair there will be the opportunity to follow some training courses aimed at all enthusiasts and collectors.
These courses will be held by authoritative foreign and Italian institutions: the FHH (Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie) and the CAPAC watchmaking school in Milan.
La FHH terrà due sessioni per esplorare i meccanismi più affascinanti del mondo dell’orologeria tra cui il cronografo, il tourbillon e il calendario perpetuo.
The FHH will hold two sessions to explore the most fascinating mechanisms in the world of watchmaking including the chronograph, tourbillon and perpetual calendar.
The CAPAC school will instead offer sessions, with its trainers, to learn the basics of mechanical watchmaking and acquire the skills to assemble and disassemble a mechanical movement directly in the classroom.
In order to participate in the courses it will be necessary to send a request using the form that you can find at this link.
Meetups and talks at VO’Clock Privè
In addition to the news of the Maison and the courses, it will be possible to attend, on Saturdays and Sundays, various meetings with the Maison.
Everything will be enriched by a program of in-depth talks with the experts who will be held in a dedicated lounge.
In the meetings and talks, which are also open to the public, prominent names in the watchmaking sector will be present.
How to have access to VO’Clock Privé
In order to access the Vicenzaoro fair and, consequently, to VO’Clock Privé, it is necessary to register via the page at this link in order to obtain, free of charge, your ticket which will then be presented in paper format at the entrance of the fair.
We also remind you that, unless there are changes in recent days, in order to access the event, it will be mandatory to show the Reinforced Green Pass at the entrance (COVID-19 green certification certifying vaccination or recovery).
We also specify that, as for all indoor places, the use of the mask must be continued for the entire period of stay inside the fair.
The future of VO’Clock and VO Vintage
Heir to the success of VO Vintage, we are sure that this new “VO’Clock Privé” format will find its light within the entire community of collectors and watchmaking enthusiasts.
On the other hand, our hope is that this event can become a meeting place for all the watchmaking maisons, guaranteeing Italian collectors and enthusiasts a landmark on a par, we could say, of Dubai Watch Week.
If that were the case, it would be a great triumph for the world of watchmaking but, above all for Italy which, as some of you will surely know, is the country that has “churned out” some of the greatest collectors in the world.
We will be present throughout the fair and we hope that you too will participate in large numbers so that we can meet and chat about our unbridled passion for the world of watchmaking.
If you cannot participate, stay tuned with us on Instagram so that you can follow VO’Clock Privé live through our stories and posts.
