The Monaco Legend Group “Exclusive Timepieces” auction will be held on October 22nd and 23rd at the Hotel Méridien Beach Plaza in Monaco. During the event some of some of the rarest and most sought after watches will be auctioned.
Among the various timepieces offered during the auction, a central place will be occupied by four watches on which our attention has fallen. These are four Audemars Piguet Quantième Perpétuel in platinum with precious stones, part of a limited edition made by the well-known retailer Asprey (also the ones responsible for the Oman dials).
Made with the skillful craftsmanship of the craftsmen of Le Brassus, these Quantième Perpétuel offer the opportunity to own four of the rarest Audemars Piguet ever made.
The history

Since 1875, the year in which Jules Louis Audemars, together with Edward Auguste Piguet, founded the very famous Audemars Piguet watch factory, the Maison has developed watches equipped with complex mechanisms and extreme precision.
Among the most important watches that Audemars Piguet has been able to produce throughout its history, probably the complication of the perpetual calendar represents the excellence and preference of the Swiss brand.

All these features can be found inside the four Audemars Piguet Quantieme Perpetuel that will be sold at auction and which were made in a limited edition together with the historic dealer Asprey.
This dealer, famous for supplying watches to many heads of state since the 1800s, together with Audemars Piguet created this set of four watches at the particular request of a member of a royal family.
These are four perpetual calendars in platinum made in 1993 and each completed with stones of different types: diamonds, emeralds, rubies and sapphires.
The common features
All made with a 38.5mm diameter platinum case, these watches also share the same movement: self-winding caliber 2120.

Another element in common is the skeletonized dial that allows you to observe the beauty of the movement, a detail that can also be admired on the back of the watch, thanks to a sapphire crystal case back.
As for the functions, these four Audemars Piguet Quantieme Perpetuel, in addition to indicating the hours and minutes, have a perpetual calendar.

The information of the boiler can be read using the counters positioned on the dial at 3 (date), 6 (moon phase and age of the moon), 9 (day), 12 (month).
The distinctive character of these four Quantième Perpétuel is given by the type of stones used to decorate and embellish the case: diamonds, emeralds, rubies and sapphires.
Audemars Piguet Quantième Perpétuel with diamonds

Starting from the first watch, reference 25740PT, we can see the presence of baguette-cut diamonds above the bezel and lugs.
Inside the dial, on the other hand, we find the hour markers always in diamond but with a brilliant cut. The case and movement serial numbers are D30285 and 347185 respectively.
Produced in 1993 and preserved in new condition, the watch is completed with a blue leather strap and comes with its archive extract along with the service box.
Audemars Piguet Quantiéme Pèrpetuel with Emeralds

The second watch, again with reference 25740PT, differs from the first for the type of stones used on the bezel and above the lugs: emeralds set with baguette cut.
As in the first model, we also find here the hour markers, inside the dial, made with brilliant-cut diamonds. The serial number of this watch is D30413.
Produced in 1993, this Quantieme Perpetuel Smeraldi is sold in NOS condition and is accompanied by a green leather strap, matched to the color of the emeralds. To complete the watch we find its archive extract together with the travel box with which it is delivered.
