Hublot continues to push the boundaries of innovation and, after introducing the Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic SAXEM that we have already discussed, also introduces the new Big Bang MECA-10, a modern and sophisticated reinterpretation of an already iconic model. This new version is distinguished by its more compact dimensions, without sacrificing the revolutionary technology that has made the MECA-10 a benchmark in the industry.
Available in three material variants-King Gold, Titanium, and Carbon Frosted-each of these declinations represents a unique interpretation of Hublot’s philosophy.
The design and materials of the new Hublot Big Bang Meca-10

The new Hublot Big Bang MECA-10 fits perfectly into the aesthetic tradition of the Big Bang collection, while introducing distinctive and innovative elements. The case, with a reduced diameter of 42 mm, compared to the previous model, and a thickness of 13.9 mm, maintains the unmistakable silhouette of the Big Bang line, while being more compact and ergonomic than its predecessor.
Hublot opted for a combination of cutting-edge materials to create this new version of the MECA-10. The three main variants offer a wide range of choices for watch enthusiasts, ranging from the most elegant and refined 18k gold to frosted carbon, a first for the Big Bang collection, characterized by a singular effect that makes each case unique thanks to the irregular machining of the carbon fiber.

The skeletonized dial enhances the internal movement, creating a perfect balance between transparency and solidity, while the black rubber or fabric strap with Velcro closure emphasizes the model’s sportiness.
The HUB1205 movement of the new Hublot Big Bang Meca-10

At the heart of the Big Bang MECA-10 is the caliber HUB1205, an in-house skeleton hand-wound movement. Conceiving this extraordinary mechanical creation was a challenge for the brand’s engineers, whose goal was to fit a highly complex movement into such a small space. Thus, after years of research and development, Hublot has unveiled an over-the-top caliber that clearly stands out from the rest.
Indeed, we find a 10-day power reserve thanks to two barrels, visible through a digital display at 3 o’clock that shows the days remaining and rotates driven by a rack(crémaillère), a sophisticated display system with two overlapping discs moving in opposite directions, a rarity in watchmaking.

At 8 o’clock you can see the balance wheel in the foreground, which enhances the technical aspect of the watch and offers precision adjustment without the use of traditional lubricants, while at 9 o’clock we find the small seconds indicator. For the anchor and escapement wheel, silicon was used, thus reducing friction and ensuring greater chronometric accuracy over time.
The movement, consisting of 264 components and 29 jewels, works at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz), ensuring a smooth and steady ride.
Hublot Big Bang MECA-10 King Gold: Luxury and Audacity

The gold version, whose name comes from a platinum and gold alloy patented by the brand, is the ultimate expression of modern luxury. The satin-finished and polished case alternates between matte and reflective finishes, creating a fascinating play of light. The skeletonized dial, with galvanized 5N gold finish, lends visual depth, while the black rubber strap ensures maximum comfort.
Hublot Big Bang MECA-10 Titanium: Lightness and Technology

For those who prefer a more technical and versatile look, the Big Bang MECA-10 in Titanium is the ideal choice. Brushed, grade 5 titanium lends a contemporary, high-tech look, while the movement with metallic finish matches the case perfectly. Weighing less than the gold version, this model provides exceptional comfort.
Hublot Big Bang MECA-10 Carbon Frosted: Vanguard and Robustness

The Frosted Carbon variant represents the most innovative and daring of the three. The forged carbon gives it extreme lightness and shock resistance, while the Velcro strap emphasizes its sporty soul. The use of this material also makes each piece unique, thanks to the irregular processing of the carbon that creates unrepeatable textures.
Price and availability
EUR 44,500 is required to purchase the King Gold model. The titanium version, on the other hand, starts at a price of EUR 23,900, while the Frosted Carbon costs EUR 28,500. All models are not limited editions.
Conclusion
The Hublot Big Bang MECA-10 is not just a watch, but a statement of style and engineering. The house has managed to reinterpret an icon without compromise, offering a model that combines advanced technology, innovative materials, and unmistakable aesthetics.
For lovers of fine watchmaking looking for a distinctive timepiece, the Big Bang MECA-10 is an excellent choice. Whether it is the sumptuousness of the King Gold, the versatility of the Titanium, or the modernity of the Carbon Frosted, each model offers a unique experience.
