After the presentation of 3 new models of the Master Collection to celebrate its 190th anniversary, Longines has presented a new steel chronograph with a vintage look that will enrich the Record collection.
The Longines Record Heritage, available with a steel bracelet or with a brown leather centurino, is the emblem of the brand’s savoir-faire of the winged hourglass in watchmaking.
The nenw Longines Record Heritage
The new Longines chronograph, characterized by a vintage look dial, has a round shaped stainless steel case characterized by a diameter of 40 mm.
The polished and slightly beveled bezel holds the delicately domed sapphire crystal covered with a multilayer anti-reflective treatment through which it is possible to observe the opaque black dial, where the Arabic numerals (indicating the even hours) and the golden indexes (indicating odd hours) stand.
By carefully observing the dial, you can see the absence of the date window, a feature that gives greater prominence to the small seconds dial positioned at 3 o’clock and the 30-minute counter at 9 o’clock.
On the outside of the dial there is the perfectly legible tachymeter scale through which it is possible to measure the average speed of a body, in a predefined distance (usually it is a kilometer; to find out more about the chronograph’s functioning, I leave you these our two guides with which you can learn more about the subject: guide 1 – guide 2).
To complete the vintage look of this new Longines Record Heritage, we find the rectangular chronograph buttons positioned, on the right side of the watch, at 2 and 4 o’clock.
In the 13.80 mm thick case, there is the L895 caliber: it is a self-winding mechanical movement.
Equipped with a balance wheel and a silicon hairspring, this non-magnetic movement from Longines boasts the COSC chronometry certificate and is visible through the transparent caseback.
This new Longines, the first chronograph in the Record collection, is completed by a stainless steel bracelet or, alternatively, by a brown leather strap with ecru stitching.
Final take
With this watch, the Maison wants to express its essence in the name of timeless elegance and excellence.
Characterized by the charm of the chronographs of the past, the new Record Heritage represents the opportunity to be able to wear a modern watch, with what comes in terms of reliability and sturdiness but, at the same time, with that vintage look capable of arousing a emotion that only a watch from the past is able to do.
Price of the Longines Record Heritage
The new chronograph of the Swiss Maison is sold at a list price of € 3,190, both in the version with bracelet and in that with leather strap.
