In the fascinating world of watchmaking, an announcement has recently ignited the excitement of enthusiasts and collectors: Swatch today launched the incredible new MoonSwatch Mission To The Moonphase, also renamed MoonSwatch Snoopy. The news comes following a two-month teaser period in which the company sent out numerous signs and posts full of easter-eggs via its social media that led us to inevitably connect some dots. We wrote an article about it just yesterday!

The latest highly anticipated installment in the Swatch x Omega series has arrived and it definitely did not disappoint expectations. The new Moonswatch Mission to Moonphase comes in a total white version and pays homage to the moon and Snoopy at the same time thanks to a very interesting moonphase counter at 2 o’clock. The total white look immediately relates to the latest Speedmaster, launched by Omega this March 2024.
As one immediately notices, the watch immediately brings to mind Omega’s past collaborations with the Peanuts character, revisiting it, however, in an even more playful key. Like the previous 2015 version, Snoopy can be found on a sub-dial, this time, however, it is not a chronograph but moon phase!
Although the watch also looks very good in the light, the biggest treat is seen when the lights are off. The moon phase counter, thanks to luminescent materials lights up and a playful “I can’t sleep without a night light!” appears, a quote from the iconic comic strip. The moon and scattered dots on the bottom of the counter also take on a blue luminescent tint, reminiscent of the starry sky.
The association of Snoopy and the moon might seem strange to most, in fact it is a very strong connection as the iconic cartoon character has been Nasa’s mascot for 50 years, so much so that the U.S. space agency even bestowed the Silver Snoopy Award, an honor given for success in particular flight safety missions.
On the caseback, as with other Moonswatches we find the celestial reference body, in this case the Moon. However, for the Snoopy Moonswatch to the Moonphase, we immediately notice two very peculiar things.
The Moon is not depicted realistically as it was for the other watches in the series, but in comic book style. Finally, looking a little more closely, we also find the imprint of Snoopy himself. Details that are sure to please us collectors and fans.
At this point, let’s stop small talks. You may think that the watch will only be available on one day as was the case with the previous Mission To Moonshine Gold collection, but fortunately that is not the case. In fact, the watch will be fully included in the collection and will not be produced on a limited basis. The price to purchase this wonderful wrist toy will be 315.00 EUR.
Mind you, we weren’t completely wrong! The watch was launched on March 21 but will be available in Swatch boutiques only from March 26, 2024, exactly two years after the very first Moonswatch entered the market.
Final Thoughts
The new Moonswatch Mission To The Moonphase with the fantastic Snoopy has already become iconic. The watch translates numerous elements dear to collectibles into a much more playful language, right out of Swatch.
Personally, I consider the launch absolutely successful and the watch equally so. The Snoopy details, the luminescent lettering, help make it fun, but without falling into the banal and maintaining a very pleasant aesthetic. Just as it should be when wearing a Swatch.
