Dear friends of IWS, as you well know from the introduction of the LVMH Watch Week concept, these are days of excitement for watchmaking, especially for the brands led by the Arnault family. On the occasion of the event, Zenith enriches its Chronomaster Original collection with a new fascinating complication: the triple calendar.
Design and Function
The Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar presents itself as an extremely elegant watch with a vintage charm, just like the rest of the line, respecting its DNA. The maison has decided to present the watch in three variants: white dial, green dial, and finally, anthracite dial.
All three variants are equipped with the typical 38 mm steel case of the Chronomaster Original line, with sharp and elongated lugs. Being a triple calendar chronograph, the dial features three chronograph counters, while the day of the week, month, and day of the month are visible through three windows at 10, 2, and 4:30 o’clock, respectively. The last gem, in the counter at 6 o’clock, we also find the moon phases for the more romantic.
Each variant is sold with an integrated bracelet or with a calfskin strap, without the quick-switch system that characterizes the other Zenith lines, to maintain the nostalgic and traditional DNA of the Chronomaster Original collection.
The Triple Calendar Chronograph Movement
Turning the sapphire crystal case back, we can admire the automatic El Primero 3610 caliber which for the first time maintains, in the version with calendar and moon phases, a frequency of 5 Hz, guaranteeing precision to the tenth of a second. In addition, the power reserve is 60 hours.
Price and Availability
The list price of all three variants is 14,000 EUR. As for availability, while white and anthracite will be available both from authorized dealers and through Zenith’s direct channels, the green dial version will be a Zenith exclusive for boutiques and e-commerce.
Final Thoughts
The Zenith Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar presents itself as an ambitious and at the same time competitive variant of the Chronomaster line. Ambitious for the ability to combine the chronograph with a triple calendar with moon phases; competitive because all this is offered at a certainly very interesting market price.
Among the three versions, between white and green, I would be tremendously undecided but as we always say… de gustibus! With these premises, we are very interested in observing what Zenith will do over the course of this new year.
