To create a women’s watch, a designer must undergo through a completely different approach compared to a man’s one.
Create a women’s watch is a totally different thing from a men’s watch. The man is looking for performance, complications, while a woman needs “emotions, uniqueness and beauty”, as BVLGARI Head of Design Fabrizio Buonamassa said in a recent interview to IWS (click here to read it).
These two worlds are linked and mix with different shades.
Here’s where two BVLGARI masterpieces come from.
Let’s begin from the Diva’s Dream Finissima Minute Repeater
An easy watch at first sight, its beating heart is the world record award caliber BVL 362.
This mechanism first appeared in 2016 on the Octo Finissimo, then moved to the Diva Collection. Its 3.12 mm of thickness makes it the world’s slimmest minute repeater. This heart is stored in a 37 mm white gold case… but don’t lose our self in specifics, let’s talk about emotions. Almost the whole case is diamond set, the starry dial is a stunner.
Here, the Devil really is in the details: simply look at the seconds sub dial (at 6 o’clock) that reminds of the bezel.
But what about that little tag on the left?
It isn’t there only for aesthetics, his main function is to activate the minute repeater. Simply pull and you’ll hear the ringtone.

The Pavone (Italian for “Peacock”) it’s the proof that BVLGARI it’s here to impress.
The brand pushes itself up to creating a true peacock feather dial. Every watch will then be different, making it an only-piece.
Going back to specifics, the case is still 37 mm but in rose gold. Diamonds aren’t missing, always being ladies’ favorite companions. Less in number but not less visible, we can find them on the lugs and the bezel.
The cherry on top of this watch actually looks like a cherry! A brilliant-cut rubellite stone is set into the charging crown.
