For several years now, watch enthusiasts have come back to appreciate sports models with integrated bracelets more than ever.

Chopard, with the watches in the Alpine Eagle collection, is a perfect example of this: already in 2019, the brand has sensed a key trend in the watchmaking world, turning the collection into one of its landmarks.

On the occasion of Watches and Wonders, Chopard is presenting two new interpretations of the line, enriching it with new materials and expanding the offering dedicated to the female audience.

Let’s find out about them together!

Chopard Alpine Eagle 41 XP CS Platinum

On the occasion of Watches and Wonders, the most important event of the year for the world of hands, Chopard decides to enrich its Alpine Eagle sports collection with an extraordinary all-platinum version, combined with the balanced proportions of the ultra-flat “41 XP” case, 41 mm in diameter, first introduced in 2022. The watch combines the elegance and refinement of the noblest of materials with a blue “Shades of Ice” dial.

What makes this timepiece truly extraordinary is the use of a material as precious as it is fascinating as platinum, the working of which to shape the case and bracelet requires considerable effort, both because of the hardness of the metal and because of the tools needed to shape it.

The result is a metal with an extraordinary luster that allows the wearer to go unnoticed by most, but certainly not to the watchful eyes of enthusiasts.

Since the 19th century, Chopard has used the symbol of a bee to identify platinum, recalling qualities such as modesty and integrity. From this time, the punch will return to mark the manufacture’s platinum models.

The “Shades of Ice” dial, inspired by the majesty of the Alps, is also a first. The color fades from a light shade in the center to a more intense one along the edges, evoking the beauty of Alpine glaciers and lakes, whose waters reflect different hues throughout the day. The dial is embellished with a unique texture, achieved by soleil embossing on its brass surface.

The beating heart of this timepiece is the automatic caliber L.U.C 96.42-L, which, with a thickness of only 3.30 mm and thanks to the platinum micro-rotor, allows the watch to maintain an extremely slim profile.

The watch will be available exclusively at Chopard boutiques.

Chopard Alpine Eagle 33 “Grey of Vals”

Since its launch in 2019, the Alpine Eagle collection has offered several timepieces combining steel with rose gold. At Watches and Wonders, the brand is introducing a new version embellished with yellow gold in a 33mm-diameter case.

The carrure and links of the bracelet are made of steel, composed of 80% recycled materials, while the bezel, crown, and central coiffe of the bracelet are 18K yellow gold.

The harmonious juxtaposition of hues continues on the dial, in the refined “Vals Gray” shade, inspired by the silver reflections of quartzite slabs lining the roofs and walls of old alpine houses. Complementing the dial’s elegance are diamond hour markers alternating with gold Roman numerals positioned at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o’clock.

The use of precious stones is not limited to the indexes, but extends to the bezel, set with brilliant-cut diamonds, giving the timepiece an aura of sophisticated luminosity.

At the heart of the watch is the Chopard automatic caliber 09.01-C, featuring small dimensions that do not compromise performance. With a 42-hour power reserve and COSC certification, it guarantees high precision and reliability.

Conclusion

In my opinion, with these two novelties, Chopard has succeeded perfectly in introducing two versions into the catalog that had been missing. Although they may be aimed at a very specific clientele-particularly the platinum model-they demonstrate the growing success of the Alpine Eagle collection and the line’s potential for expansion.
