In recent years, Montblanc has become increasingly established in the haute horlogerie scene, distinguished by its ability to combine striking technical complications with a sporty and elegant aesthetic. The result? Refined watches designed to be worn every day.

In occasion of Watches and Wonders 2025, the Maison enriches its 1858 Geosphere catalog with two important new additions, staying true to its distinctive style aimed at the continuous pursuit of excellence.

Let’s go together to discover these new watches.

Montblanc 1858 Geosphere Annual Calendar Limited Edition

The first new addition to the collection is the two new Montblanc 1858 Geosphere Annual Calendar, produced in limited edition.

These watches introduce a never-before-seen Minerva manufacture hand-wound caliber, equipped with an annual calendar, grand date and world hour function. The power reserve is about 65 hours, and the movement is composed of 336 components, all finished to the exacting standards of haute horlogerie.

While the large date positioned at 12 o’clock is a complication already seen in other models, the month display is decidedly more original: a red arrow rotating along the outside of the dial. This element recalls the symbol of the goddess Minerva, an emblem of craftsmanship. A curious detail, for the keen observer, is the substitution of the month of July for the word “Minerva” on the months disc, since the Minerva trademark was registered on July 30, 1887.

But what really sets these timepieces apart is the three-dimensional, hand-painted northern hemisphere that serves as a day/night indicator. It takes a skilled craftsman about four hours of painstaking work to make it. It is also possible to order the addition of the southern hemisphere on the dial.

The two limited editions differ mainly in the materials used: a steel version with a white gold bezel, and a version in fine lime gold, both with a 42 mm diameter case.
Production is also differentiated: 100 pieces for the steel version, and only 30 pieces for the lime gold version.

Montblanc 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen Mount Vinson Limited Edition

While the Montblanc 1858 Geosphere collection has always drawn inspiration from nature and the mountain world, particularly the discovery of unexplored territories-an inexhaustible source of inspiration-this new limited edition is yet another celebration of it.

This second new limited edition from Montblanc, also unveiled today at Watches and Wonders, pays tribute to legendary mountaineer and Montblanc brand ambassador Reinhold Messner and his ascent of Mount Vinson in Antarctica-the last peak with which he completed his personal variation of the Seven Summits Challenge.

Today, this feat is known as Messner’s List: a version of the Seven Summits Challenge that saw the mountaineer climb the seven highest peaks on each continent, including Everest in Asia, Aconcagua in South America, Denali in North America, Kilimanjaro in Africa, Elbrus in Europe, Puncak Jaya in Oceania and Vinson in Antarctica.
Although the idea dates back to the 1950s, it still represents one of the most ambitious challenges for climbers around the world, completed to date by fewer than 500 people.

The new limited edition Montblac, dedicated to these extreme adventures by Reinhold Messner, will be produced in 986 pieces, a number that recalls the year Messner completed his ascent of Mount Vinson.

The watch is distinguished by a 43.5 mm diameter titanium case, enhanced by quartz and basalt fiber details and a blue resin. This material mix creates a design reminiscent of the glaciers of Antarctica, which take on increasingly blue hues as you descend into the depths, due to the absence of oxygen.

The caliber that brings this new watch to life is the MB 29.25, an automatic movement equipped with the worldtime complication, for years one of the most fascinating hallmarks of Montblanc creations. The power reserve is 42 hours.

Conclusion

At Watches and Wonders 2025 Montblanc was once again able to introduce incredible innovations, staying true to the philosophy that has always set it apart on the fine watchmaking scene over the years.

What can we say, all that’s left to do is to go and try these interesting new products in the boutique to savor every single detail.
