During the Geneva Watch Days 2022, Bulgari presented four new variants of its flagship, which has already become an icon of modern watchmaking: Octo Finisismo. Among these new models, the new Octo Finissimo Skeleton 8 Days to which we dedicated a previous article certainly surprised.
The model that left everyone speechless at the first visual impact was, without a doubt, the new Octo Finissimo Edition Sejima.
Born from the collaboration between Bulgari and the Japanese architect Kazuyo Sejima, it is a totally new variant for finishes and dial of the now award-winning watch of the Italian Maison.
In this article we will discover the new limited edition watch characterized by mirror effects and a play of transparencies.
Bulgari and the limited editions with Japanese architects

Heir of the previous editions born between Bulgari and one of the most famous Japanese architects on the international scene, Tadao Ando, the new Octo Finissimo Sejima is the result of the collaboration between the Italian Masion and the Japanese architect Kazuyo Sejima.

Winner of the Pritzker Prize in 2010, the highest award in the sector, and of the Golden Lion at the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2004, Sejima, through collaboration with Bulgari, has decided to propose her own vision of the Octo Finissimo.
New Bulgari Octo Finissimo Sejima

Made in a limited edition of 360 pieces, this new Octo Finissimo immediately attracts attention thanks to its mirrored effects and a play of transparencies on the dial.
For the creation of this new watch, architect Sejima worked on the contrast between material and transparency, visible and invisible, capable of reflecting and re-proposing the aesthetic codes that run through her work.
One of the elements that immediately highlights this new Octo Finissimo is undoubtedly the powerful mirrored effect on the sapphire crystal dial, enriched by a dot pattern created by the same architect.

To enhance the effect produced by the dial, we find a fully polished steel case and bracelet.
Features and technical details

Similarly to the only time steel models of the Octo Finsisimo family, this new Sejima edition features a case diameter of 40 mm and a thickness of 6.40 mm.

Inside the polished dial with mirror effect there are rhodium-plated hands, to protect it there is a sapphire crystal with metallic dots.
At 3 o’clock there is the steel winding crown with a black ceramic insert that guarantees water resistance up to 100 meters (attention, this does not mean that you can dive up to 100 meters deep. To find out more, consult our guide to water resistance in watches).

Through the sapphire crystal caseback it is possible to observe the ultra-thin manufacture mechanical movement with automatic winding with platinum micro-rotor.
To complete the design of the watch we find the polished steel bracelet with a three-blade folding buckle.
