The Naked Watchmaker, in collaboration with Frederique Constant, has revealed the new Slimline Perpetual Calendar Manufacture: a timepiece that fully reflects the philosophy on which the online platform that “deconstructs” watches is based.
From this collaboration, a completely new customization of the Frederique Constant Slimline Perpetual Calendar Manufacture was born that showcases the beauty of the mechanism and makes some technical changes to the design.
The starting idea for the deconstruction of the Slimline Perpetual Calendar Manufacture
As the starting point for this project, Frederique Constant’s Slimline Perpetual Calendar Manufacture with reference FC-775G4S6 was chosen.
It is a model introduced by the Maison in 2015 and developed with the aim of creating a beautiful watch starting from a balanced dial.
Faithful to its mission “Let more people enjoy luxury”, this perpetual calendar was developed with the aim of positioning it as a watch with accessible complications.
For this new collaboration, the choice fell on this model as The Naked Watchmaker, having had the pleasure of presenting a deconstruction of the original timepiece, had the idea of collaborating with Frederique Constant.
The goal for the new project, from the very beginning, was to create a limited edition that would give the watch a new identity and enclose in a timepiece the elements that personify the mission of The Naked Watchmaker platform.
This new watch, which pays homage to the history of fine watchmaking, is the first ever to be made by The Naked Watchmaker.
Changes made to the original Slimline Perpetual Calendar Manufacture
The watch in question was the ideal candidate for this challenge, as the dial concealed the movement which gave The Naked Watchmaker the opportunity to fulfill their mission of revealing the inner beauty of the watch.

As for the changes that have been made to the original model, we find an enlargement of the sub-dials of the day and date and, at the same time, a magnification of the hands for greater visibility.
The indication of the months has also been changed to optimize visibility; the year hand was removed and a color indication was inserted between January and March.
A further modification concerns the indication of the leap year since, to avoid that the indication of the months is obstructed, the years are shown through an opening in February; each year is different in color and the leap year is red.
Looking at the dial, a detail that immediately catches the eye is the color of the bridge: blue was chosen to create a strong contrast with the steel and gold components in order to accentuate the mechanics of the watch.
In addition, the choice of the blue color represents a strong reference to the world of watchmaking as this color has always occupied an important place in the history of haute horlogerie.
All these changes are complemented by the choice that was made for the strap: the brown used has a warm and slightly vintage feel, perfect for a classic watch like this.
Features and movement of the Slimline Perpetual Calendar Manufacture
Starting from the functions of the clock, we find a perpetual calendar that indicates hours, minutes, moon phases, date, day, month, year and finally, an animation of the moon. The steel case measures 42 mm and features an anti-reflective sapphire crystal.
The skeletonized dial has brown as its main color in contrast with the blue of the movement. The print of the external small parts, the white hands and the moons, presented a luminous treatment capable of making the timepiece visible even in the dark.
As for the movement, it is an automatic caliber with reference FC-775 that can be seen through the sapphire crystal caseback. Characterized by the blue color, this movement features Côtes de Genève finishing; the power reserve is 38 hours.
