Starting in 2025, LVMH will assume a crucial role in the motorsport scene, becoming the main partner of F1 and providing support in various areas at the various race weekends through a 10-year partnership.
In particular, it will be TAG Heuer that will become F1’s Official Timekeeper, taking over the position that Rolex has held for several years. The brand, which has always been linked to the world of racing, will certainly know how to face this new challenge in the best possible way and give birth to watches capable of surprising fans.
On the occasion of LVMH Watch Week, TAG Heuer chose to write a new chapter in its motorsport history by unveiling five new models of the Formula 1 chronograph, including one made in collaboration with Oracle Red Bull Racing.
This collection turns out to be far sportier than the newly unveiled Carrera, which we told you about in thededicated article, and which have been a huge success in recent years.
Let’s now go together, at full speed, to discover Tag Heuer’s new Formula 1s!
Features of the new Tag Heuer Formula 1
These new models measure 44 mm in diameter and, with a thickness of 14.1 mm, they definitely stand out on the wrist. Making the design even more racy is the shape of the case, inspired by the lines of Formula 1 cars, which together with the generous size gives it an extremely sporty look.
Nevertheless, the absence of real lugs makes the watch more manageable in terms of wearability, thanks to a lug-to-lug of 47.3 mm. If you are interested in these fantastic new watches, therefore, the advice is not to stop at the figures on the data sheet, but to try it out in person at the boutique to see how comfortable it really is on your wrist.
Inside these chronographs beats the Calibre 16, a reliable and proven movement capable of excellent performance. The cases are made of grade 2 titanium, a lightweight and durable material, and three of them feature a black DLC treatment that enhances their sporty character. In the four standard models we find a black tachymeter bezel, made with the same treatment, while in the version in collaboration with Oracle Red Bull Racing the case is sandblasted, giving it a modern touch, and the bezel is made of forged carbon, a further nod to the technologies used in the racing world.
The dial of this special edition dedicated to the RedBull team also differs from the standard models in that it features a blue plaid pattern, accompanied by the team’s signature yellow and red colors, instead of the more classic black background with contrasting inserts. In all models, the rubber strap complements the sporty aesthetic, ensuring durability and comfort.
Finally, the case back of the Red Bull edition is personalized with an engraving of the team’s logo, a detail that makes the watch even more exclusive and dedicated to motorsport fans.
Pricing and availability
The two models without DLC treatment start at a price of EUR 4,650, while for those with a black case made with DLC treatment the figure rises slightly toD EUR 4,850. The model in collaboration with Oracle Red Bull Racing, on the other hand, is offered at a list price of EUR 5,350.
Although a special version, the latter is not limited edition and will remain in the catalog, allowing fans to secure it in the future without the pressure of a numbered edition.
Conclusion
After the partnership with Kith, which made such a splash last year, the addition of these new F1s further solidifies TAG Heuer’s connection to the world’s premier motorsport competition.
These undoubtedly unconventional chronographs expand the brand’s catalog even further, offering those looking for a watch with an extremely sporty soul a choice of several variants.
As already pointed out when describing the case, the dimensions could be misleading: the advice is therefore to go to the boutique to try them on your wrist in person, being fascinated by the new chapter and the long association between TAG Heuer and F1.
